Horst Dornbusch is an internationally known authority on beer, an award-winning beer author and brewer, and a multilingual beer raconteur. He is a regular columnist for BeerAdvocate.com, America's most popular consumer website for beer lovers, and for Brew Your Own Magazine, the world's largest-circulation homebrew journal.

Horst Dornbusch is fluently bilingual in English and German and knows enough French and Spanish to get himself into trouble. Among the many international publications for which he has written feature stories are All About Beer, Brewers' Guardian, Beverage Business, The New Brewer, Zymurgy, WineMaker, American Brewer, and Ale Street News. In 2002, he was honored with the Golden Quill and Tankard Award by the North American Guild of Beer Writers for best feature on brewing.

He has given public speeches and held tastings in venues large and small on two continents, including the Culinary Institute of America, the Boston Learning Society, the Brewers Association National Craft Brew Conference, the BeerAdvocate Boston Beer Fest, the Brewers Association National Homebrewers Conference, the historical Old South Meeting House Museum in Boston, the German-American Business Council, the Goethe Institute, the Rotary Club, the Union Club in Boston, the Doemens Brew University Alumni, and the Weyermann Specialty Malting Company International Beer Tasting.

Horst Dornbusch was born in Düsseldorf, Germany, where he earned his Abitur (the classic German high school diploma). He then attended Ruhr-Universität in Bochum. After immigrating to the New World, he received a B.A. from Reed College in Oregon and an M.A from Brandeis University in Massachusetts.

He has been a Fulbright Scholar, a radio news editor, a book and magazine editor, and a microbrewery owner. His brewing awards include a Bronze Medal at the 2000 Great American Beer Festival and the title "Brewer of the Month" by Yankee Brew News, in 1996.

He makes his home in Massachusetts where he owns Cerevisia Communications, a public relations agency for the international beverage industry.
